Phuket: Swede Fredrik was thankful this evening. Together with Norwegian Oliver he was able to save a human life from the foaming wall of water that smashed into Phuket yesterday.

"We tried to drag an older English married couple out of the water. But then the concrete wall they hung onto broke. We managed to find the man again afterward, but we have not seen the woman since," said Fredrik to Dagbladet at Bangkok Hospital in Phuket.

He had just visited the older Englishman whom he saved. The man in in a coma in the hospital.

He hasn't seen the Norwegian who helped him since then. Everything is chaos in Phuket right now.

Another Swede filmed the wave when the two men tried as hard as they could with their life saving feat. Here you can see for yourself how strong the wall of water was when the second wave came.

After the first wave, most people thought it was over. That the water had slid away.

They were wrong.

"I ran down to see if I could help anyone. I saw the first wave come from the window in my hotel room. When the second wave came I was not able to get away," he said to Dagbladet.

I am so glad that the man was saved. Tragedy brings everyone together.
